Naples-Raised Artist Exhibits Paintings at
Sea Salt, March 23 and 24 6-8 PM
Proceeds from Sales on Wednesday to Benefit the Conservancy of Southwest Florida
Sea Salt restaurant on Third Street South will host an exhibit of paintings by Naples-raised artist Reisha Perlmutter on Wednesday and Thursday, March 23 and 24, 6 to 8 p.m.
The two-night show, called "Origin," takes place in Sea Salt's breezeway on Third Street South, and opens with a wine and canapé reception on Wednesday, March 23, 6 to 8 p.m., when 20 percent of proceeds from the sale of paintings will benefit the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
There is no charge for either night of the show, and the public is invited to attend.
Reisha Perlmutter, 25, works primarily in oil, and excels in large-scale paintings. Her show "Origin" delves into images of nature, with portraits embedded in foliage or submerged in water. She focuses on the presence of light and infuses it into her images, making her work glow from within. According to Perlmutter, the series in "Origin" is an intimate recognition of her memories from her childhood in Naples, and her fascination and connection to the natural world. Her self-portraits within the series represent both a connection to childhood as well as the ongoing journey of self-discovery.
Reisha Perlmutter trained in Chicago and New York City, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Art Institute of Chicago, and a Master of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art. She studied painting and drawing in Studio Escalier intensive courses in the Loire Valley and Paris, France. She also spent a summer residency at the International School of Drawing and Painting in Umbria, Italy.
"Reisha's work is a celebration of the power and beauty of nature and of paint, and the show's attendees are sure to be captivated as she is a joy to listen to as she relates her story and creative process."
